The campus model

The successful stimulation of software-driven innovations with a pronounced transdisciplinary knowledge context and the development of future-proof software-intensive systems require suitable forms of cooperation between science and industry.

The main innovation in the cooperation between the SICP partners is the campus model, which promotes direct transorganisational and transdisciplinary cooperation.

Company employees and scientists work closely together at one location, the campus. The companies either set up their own R&I institutions, so-called innovation labs, at the SICP ("rented rooms") or temporarily send company employees to work in project rooms on campus together with the other partners ("rented desks").

The university pools its expertise and organisation in the Software Innovation Lab (SI-Lab), which is anchored as a central scientific institution.
